iPhone 5 Spy Photo

9to5mac has just posted a Photo of what could be the iPhone 5, The photo was taken by someone who said that a likely to be an Apple employee was using the new device on his way home from work.

We contacted the tipster by phone and checked his background. We believe he saw a totally new Apple device, probably a prototype iPhone 5. He contacted us because when he got home, he doubted what he saw was legitimate until he looked at the green cases we posted. Then it all came together for him. Our tipster has had an iPhone 3GS and currently has an iPhone 4. He knows his iPhones and iPods and this was like nothing he’s ever seen. He said it would fit perfectly into the case below.

This report comes in line with the recent expectations for the iPhone 5 release date. Also Apple retail stores is increasing staffing in both The U.S. and UK at the same date zone.
As for the design of the iPhone 5 the is two rumors, The first is claimed to be design diagrams of the iPhone 5 which was backed up with the leaked photo’s for what is said to be iPhone 5 silicon cases. The second one claims that the iPhone 5 design will look very much like the iPhone 4.
The China Times seems to be close to Apple’s suppliers in China, And Reuters previously reported that iPhone 5 will have a mid September release.

TinyUmbrella Updated To Support iOS 4.3.5, And Update iPhone 4 Baseband

TinyUmbrella has been updated to 5.00.07. This time TinyUmbrella allows you to choose to update your baseband or not.
tinyumbrella

I'll probably regret this but this newest version of TU (5.00.07) will allow you to choose whether or not to update your iPhone 4's baseband. This new feature comes with a catch:
  1. First, the version you WANT to restore to and the version Apple is currently signing must BOTH have the same baseband. This is important or else the baseband update will not work and you will get a 10xx error and need to use fixrecovery. (Works for iPhone 4 - will not work for iPad 2)
  2. Second, you need to realize that checking the box WILL UPDATE YOUR BASEBAND.
  3. Third, I'm working on a simple tool that will allow you to create a pseudo-custom firmware mixing a new baseband with an older iOS version (one that is jailbreakable for example). This feature exists in the TinyUmbrella rewrite but does not yet exist in the older codebase. SORRY! I'm working on it!
Remember: If you want to unlock your iPhone , Do not update your baseband.

Two days ago we reported that Gevey SIM Ultra successfully unlocked iPhone 4 On iOS 4.3.4. Yesterday Applereleased iOS 4.3.5 to fix a security issue with a certificate validation. Now we are reporting that Gevey SIM Ultrasuccessfully unlocks iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.5

Since iPhone dev-team has not updated ultrasn0w to unlock 4.3.5 iPhone 4, So Gevey SIM Ultra is the only way to unlock 4.3.5 iPhone 4, Or you could always avoid the update and stay unlocked with ultrasn0w.

How To Jailbreak iOS 4.3.5 On iPad 2

Apple recently released iOS 4.3.5. Sure many of iPad 2 users have accidentally updated their firmware to 4.3.5. Unfortunately there is no straight way to jailbreak iPad 2.
ipad-2-jailbreak-520x398
The only way you could have an untethered jailbreak for iPad 2 is to downgrade your iOS to 4.3.3 and use jailbreakMe 3.0 but unfortunately the iPad 2 [3G versions]  can’t be downgraded.
Here is how to downgrade iOS 4.3.5 to 4.3.3 , And Here is how to use jailbreakMe 3.0

How To Downgrade iOS 4.3.5 To 4.3.4, 4.3.3, 4.3.2 Or 4.3.1 [Guide]

Today Apple released iOS 4.3.5 to fix a security issue with certificate validation issue. But if you accidentally updated your firmware to 4.3.5 and you had saved your SHSH blobs for iOS 4.3.4, 4.3.3, 4.3.2 or 4.3.1, You can downgrade from iOS 4.3.5 to any of them. Check out how after the jump.
Warning: This Method won’t work with iPad 2 [3G versions]
Step 1: Download the required IPSW file to which you want to downgrade to, the links are given below for your convenience:
Step 2: Once you’ve downloaded the required IPSW file, its time you put your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into DFU mode. The steps are as follows:
Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your PC or Mac.
Turn your device off.
Now launch iTunes.
Hold down the Power button and the Home button simultaneously for 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds, release the Power button but don’t let go of the Home button, your computer should detect a new USB device.
At this point, iTunes will also recognize your device, whether its an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
At this point, your device’s screen should be off, if that’s so, then you’ve successfully put your device in DFU mode. If iTunes logo shows up, you’re in Recovery Mode, NOT DFU mode.
Step 3: Here comes the tricky and the most important part, you’re going to fool iTunes into thinking that its in contact with Apple’s servers, whereas we’re going to change that to Saurik’s server. In order to do this, follow the steps given below:

Windows users:
Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and locate the file named as “hosts”.
Mac users:
Mac users can access the “hosts” file by navigating to “/etc/” folder, which can be found through Go > Go to Folder from within Finder.
If you’re on Windows, then open the “hosts” file in Notepad. If on a Mac, then open the “hosts” file in TextEdit, and add the following line at the end:
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
Refer to the screenshot below if you’re having confusion:
Just save the file and close Notepad or TextEdit, and you’re all set for the downgrade.
A quick note for Windows 7 and Vista users: Start Notepad with “Administrator privileges”, that can be done by right-clicking the Notepad app, and there you will see the “Administrator privileges” option, simply click and launch.
A quick note for Mac OS X users: While saving the host file on your Mac, you should have complete read and write privileges in order to make changes. Getting a permission error? A simple workaround is to copy the host file to your Mac’s desktop, from there make the changes in TextEdit, save the file, and copy it back to the original location, and replace the original host file with the one which you just created.
Step 4: Launch iTunes, choose your device from the left sidebar. Hold down the left “Shift” key if you’re on Windows or hold down the left “alt” key if you’re on a Mac and click on “Restore”, do not click anything else! A new window will pop up asking you for the location of the IPSW file.
Navigate to the desired firmware to which you want to downgrade to, in this case it can be either iOS 4.3.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.1, 4.3 or 4.2.1. Once you find the required IPSW file, click “Open” and let iTunes do its thing.
In a matter of few minutes, iTunes will install the version of iOS which you directed it to install. At this point you should see a progress bar on your device, everything is automated, therefore don’t do anything silly. Your device will reboot automatically when everything is done.
In some cases, iTunes will throw 1013 error, ignore it, its perfectly normal when downgrading. At this point, your device will be in Recovery Mode with your desired version of iOS fully installed.
You should see a screen like the one below:
Its quite simple to get out of Recovery Mode, simply down this nifty program called TinyUmbrella (WindowsMac) along with Fix Recovery (WindowsMac).
Once you’re done downloading TinyUmbrella, launch it, and then click on the “Exit Recovery” button. In a matter of seconds, your device will boot up normally.
Once you’re done with this, the last thing you’re going to do is remove the line you added to the “host” file in step 3, which is 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com in order to receive updates from Apple’s servers normally.

iOS 4.3.4 Untether Jailbreak Will Not Come Soon

i0n1c just announced on his twitter that we shouldn't expect an untether jailbreak any time soon.

So as we recommended before Don't update your iDevice to this firmware version, Instead of updating to iOS 4.3.4 - which does not have new features - Stay with your jailbroken iOS 4.3.3 and you can patch the exploits with PDF Patcher 2 from Comex.

Save SHSH Blobs For iOS 4.3.4 With The Latest Update Of TinyUmbrella

TinyUmbrella has been updated to add support to iOS 4.3.4, But we don't recommend updating your firmware to this version.

Apple has finally come out with their 'fix' for the pdf vulnerability that JailbreakMe 3.0 uses to jailbreak devices. In proper good form, @comex has released a much better* fix for the vulnerability which also incidentally allows you to stay jailbroken :)I've updated TinyUmbrella to save 4.3.4 SHSHs (as well as the other ones Apple is still signing). So grab the latest if you want to save 4.3.4 for nothing else than for the sake of completeness.
So it would be better if you stick to iOS 4.3.3 and use the fix released by Comex to patch this exploit.

Download TinyUmbrella For Mac and Windows from here.

Redsn0w 0.9.8 Beta3 Launched To Jailbreak iOS 4.3.4

Now you can jailbreak you iDevices running on latest iOS 4.3.4. Dev Team has just announced the release of Redsn0w 0.9.8b3 that can help you in jailbreaking you iDevice. A few days back Dev-team said that there are possibilities of untethered jailbreak but only tethered jailbreak is released yet. This version will also tethered jailbreak you iDevice on iOS 4.3.4.

You can use redsn0w 0.9.8b3 to jailbreak almost all the device expect iPad2. This jailbreaking tool lets you jailbreak you device in a very easy way.

But MuscleNerd suggested the people to stay away from 4.3.4 and try to preserver your iOS 4.3.3 jailbreak using JailbreakMe 3.0 instead of using other jailbreaking tools like Redsn0w, Sn0wbreeze and PwangeTool.

You can download redsn0w 0.9.8b3 for both Pc and Mac from the links below
Redsn0w 0.9.8b3 for Mac
Redsn0w 0.9.8b3 for Windows

You can jailbreak your device on iOS 4.3.4 by following the methods mentioned earlier to jailbreak iOS5 beta 3. The only difference will be that you should have iDevice running on iOS 4.3.4 and select the same .ipsw file to jailbreak.

iOS 4.3.4 Permanently Kills Untethered Jailbreak

Few months ago, the iPhone hacker i0n1c has found untethered exploit which were used till iOS 4.3.3. 12 days ago, Comex released JailbreakMe 3.0 to bring the first iPad 2 jailbreak to the world. 2 days ago, Apple released iOS 4.3.4 to close Comex’s PDF jailbreak exploit and prevent iPad 2 jailbreak.

Surprisingly, Apple didn’t close Comex’s exploit only. iOS 4.3.4 has killed i0n1c’s exploit too forever. In other words, some hacker must find a new untethered exploit for iOS 4.3.x or wait till iOS 5.
According to @i0n1c on Twitter:
For those that did not get it: iOS 4.3.4 does not only fix jbme3 as announced, but also silently kills the ndrv_setspec() integer overflow.
In addition to that iOS 4.3.4 also adds code to dyld to detect attacks with binaries using “incomplete code signing”.
“Incomplete codesigning attacks” were used for all untether exploits from at least iOS 4.1.0
Wonder if {Apple] only tried to stop my xploit from modifying LCs at runtime with the new check, or if they knew it would stop [incomplete codesigning] attacks.
Apple starts again and again the cat and mouse game. Let’s see who wins at the end!
