Earlier last week Nicholas Allegra, better known as Comex around the jailbreaking community, announced that he will joint Apple as a security analyst.
Comex is very famous for his JailbreakMe tool which is the easiest userland method to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as, up to date, the only available tool to successfully jailbreak the iPad 2.
Ever since the news broke, everyone’s question in mind has been ‘What’s going to happen to JailbreakMe?” Certainly he cannot work as a security expert for Apple during the day and be a jailbreaker at night, nor can fail to expose security flaws present in Apple’s iOS.
With iOS 5 due to be released in October, the jailbreaking community is certainly hoping to see an updated version of the JailbreakMe tool.
Comex twitted on Sunday that he’s “hoping @MuscleNerd will make JailbreakMe 4.” which hints us that Comex may have handled the project to MuscleNerd.
Don’t take it as a sure thing but at least we know there’s an intention to carry on the amazing tool.
