Jailbreak 5.0.1 Untethered - iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, iPad with Redsn0w 0.9.10 b1 [Tutroial]

Jailbreak 5.0.1 untethered now became a reality. The iPhone Dev-team has just pushed Redsn0w 0.9.10 b1 to jailbreak 5.0.1  untethered on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad 1. Pod2g was the guy behind 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak, as he handed over his project to both Chronic Dev-team and iPhone Dev-team. The two teams have made a major task on 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak. iPhone Dev-team have put 5.0.1 untethered in to RedsnOw 0.9.10 b1 and PwnageTool. Chronic Dev-team put untethered 5.0.1 jailbreak into a Cydia package, thanks Pod2g and the both teams for making us happy.

Before starting to jailbreak 5.0.1untethered on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad - You have to know this :

Supported devices :

• iPhone 4 (GSM - CDMA)
• iPhone 3GS
• iPod touch 4G
• iPod touch 3G
• iPad 1

• If you have one of those devices and are not on 5.0.1 yet, update now!  The SHSH window is still open for 5.0.1  If you unlock via ultrasn0w or gevey, make sure you only get to 5.0.1 via a custom IPSW!    Once you’re at 5.0.1, use the latest redsn0w 0.9.10 to both jailbreak and untether.
• If you’re already at 5.0.1 with a tethered jailbreak, you have two choices: either run redsn0w 0.9.10 over your current jailbreak (deselect “Install Cydia” if you do that), or install the Cydia package prepared by the chronic devteam.  The patches are the same regardless of which you choose.
• Some of you are using a hybrid 5.0/5.0.1 configuration.  If so, do not attempt to install this untether over that setup!  You will most likely get into a reboot cycle.  Do a sync and fresh restore to 5.0.1 then install the jailbreak + untether.

Required Downloads :

• Download Redsn0w 0.9.10 - Windows (be sure to run in Administrator mode)
• Download Redsn0w 0.9.10 - Mac
• Download iOS 5.0.1 ipsw for iPhone, iPod touch or iPad
• Download iTunes

Step by Step guide :

Step 1: Connect your iDevice with your PC via USB, and open iTunes then Restore to iOS 5.0.1 (If you are already running iOS 5.0.1, bypass this step)

Step 2: Start Redsn0w 0.9.10 b1, and press on "Jailbreak" button

Step 3: Now select “Install Cydia” and click “Next”.

Step 4: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will be guided on how to enter DFU mode. Quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Strep 5: Wait until you get iOS 5.0.1  untethered jailbroken in few minutes. Congratulations.

Download Redsn0w 0.9.9b9d To Fix iPhone 3GS Issues On iOS 5.0.1

Couple of days ago, the iPhone Dev Team released a new update for their popular jailbreak tool redsn0w. Redsn0w 0.9.9b9 aimed to bring support for iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak and to bring some new features along with some bug fixes. Today, the team released another minor update, 0.9.9b9d, to fix issues with iPhone 3GS users running iOS 5.0.1.

This update is meant for old-bootrom iPhone 3GS users only. If you don’t have an old-bootrom 3GS, you don’t have to worry about this new release. If you do have a one and you used Redsn0w 0.9.9b9 to jailbreak, you will probably have to download and re-run this new version.

iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak Demo By Pod2g (VIDEO)

In case you’re one of our regular users here on WikiJailbreak, then you surely have read the newsabout pod2g’s iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1. untethered jailbreak. Pod2g came up with new untetheredjailbreak exploits which currently works on all A4 devices. Pod2g previously showed the jailbreak on iPod touch running iOS 5 and today he’s showing it on iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1.

Earlier today we reported you about the new release of Redsn0w 0.9.9 b9b that jailbreaks iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. iPhone Dev-team has announced today in his official blog that ultrasn0w will be available on Cydia to unlock iPhone 4, 3GS on 5.0.1.

Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 is not a new unlock for higher basebands, ultrasnOw 1.2.5 will bring compatibility with iOS 5.0.1 to unlock the already unlockable basebands. So what are the supported basebands ?

Pod2g Updates iPhone 4S Untethered Jailbreak Status

Hacker Pod2g updated everyone with the latest status of the iPhone 4S untethered jailbreak just a few ago. We know many of our viewers are waiting for the untethered jailbreak for their iPhones. The status is not that pleasing though.

Pod2g updated everyone with the latest status of untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S via his blog. He said he is working really hard on the jailbreak but he is stuck at a point on his way to success. 

Pod2g says;

The untether fails right now because I’m having processor cache issues.I’m close, but I can’t figure out what happens. It certainly has something to do with the multicore cache management.

Pod2g says that he will update everyone again with the latest status tomorrow which clearly means he is working real hard with the project. As per now, there is no jailbreak available for the iPhone 4S so Pod2g is the only person who can help many by achieving his goal. Also Pod2G said that he will try again working on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 tomorrow, we will keep you updated if there is something new from Pod2G

Well, as most of you know that iPhone Dev-team has released the new RedsnOw 0.9.9 b9b with its major updates and amazing new feature, you can check out the full changelog of Redsn0w 0.9.9 b9b on this link. Now you can jailbreak your iPhone, iPod, iPad on iOS 5.0.1 without pointing RedsnOw 0.9.9b9b to iOS 5.

Important note: If you are using ultrasn0w or Gevey SIM to unlock your iPhone, you MUST stay away from updating to iOS 5.0.1 in the meantime. On next Monday, iPhone Dev-team will release ultrasn0w to unlock iPhone 4, 3GS on iOS 5.0.1 with the older basebands (unlockable basebands)

Step 2: Start Redsn0w 0.9.9 b9b, and press on "Jailbreak" button 

Step 3: Now select “Install Cydia” and click “Next”.

Step 4: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will be guided on how to enter DFU mode. Step 6: Once current Redsn0w jailbreak is still tethered jailbreak, you will be required to connect your iOS device with your computer and run Redsn0w again then choose "Extras" > "Just Boot" and follow instructions (This will help you to fix white Cydia icon problem). You will be required to make this step every time you reboot your device (This will prevent you from stuck-ing on Apple logo)

 

Step 7: Follow our Previous Guide for “SemiTether” and install the tool to get the semi untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1.
