Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 Released Bringing Major Updates

The Major update that MuscleNerd announced is Here. and it’s loaded with features such ac it will detect your ipsw file when you jailbreak your iPhone, iPod or iPad also it will provide the best solution for your (tethered or untethered jailbreak).
201
Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 will only ask you to choose the IPSW file only in iOS betas as they aren’t public.
202

A bunch of new features!
  • uses DFU mode to try to automatically determine which device and FW you have
  • fetches pieces of public IPSWs from Apple (once). Non-public IPSWs must be provided manually (once). It then caches those pieces for future use.
  • “Just boot” is a tethered boot. Uses whatever “Preferences” you’ve set for boot logo and kernel boot-args
  • “Pwned DFU” puts your device in a pwned DFU state for some of the iTunes stuff detailed below
  • “Recovery fix” gets past 1015 types of errors (when baseband portion of restore fails). Should work on iOS5 beta too
  • “Select IPSW” is for picking non-public IPSWs, or overriding auto-detection
  • “SHSH blobs” has a bunch of options…
  • “Fetch” - fetch current PARTIAL blobs on device. Should complete in under 10 or 15 seconds. Puts the set of PARTIAL of blobs on your computer as a plist. Checks if Cydia already has a full set for this device and build. If not, it submits this PARTIAL set and returns Cydia’s acknowledgement or rejection
  • “Verify” - cryptographically verifies existing blob files from either redsn0w, TinyUmbrella, or Cydia server. You can select a whole bunch of blobs to verify at once if you want (like the TinyUmbrella directory)
  • “Submit” - both verifies and submits one or more blob files to Cydia. This lets you copy your entire TinyUmbrella cache of blobs up to the Cydia server
  • “Query” - queries the Cydia server for all available FULL or PARTIAL blobs for a given set of ECIDs
  • “Stitch” - stitches either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a STOCK or CUSTOM IPSW
  1. FULL blobs stitched to a STOCK IPSW gives you a completely self-contained signed IPSW that iTunes will accept without any tricks (no need to go into pwned DFU mode, no need to start TinyUmbrella TSS server, no need to redirect to Cydia server for blobs)
  2. PARTIAL blobs stitched to any IPSW requires you to go into pwned DFU mode before running iTunes. No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
  3. Stitching either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a CUSTOM IPSW also requires a pwned DFU start before iTunes restores. No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
  4. Stitching is NOT yet supported on iPhones! Need to work out the baseband part of the restore process.
  5. Will eventually support fetching the blobs directly from Cydia instead of a file on your computer

Unlock iPhone 4 on 4.10.01 / 3.10.01 / 2.10.04 Update

While we are surfing Tweets of iPhone hackers accounts we noticed some interesting news. As most of you know that MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev-team and Sherif Hashim the hacker behind ultrasn0w unlock didn't announce any updates regarding unlock iPhone 4 on basebands higher than 01.59.00 such as 2.10.04 / 3.10.01 / 04.10.01 since long time.

Pod2g the well-khnow iPhone hacker and the guy who found the untethered jailbreak exploit of Greenpois0n to jailbreak 4.1 / 4.2.1, he mentioned that MuscleNerd should write some papers about baseband exploiting so that other hackers can continue the project of unlock since MuscleNerd doesn't have the enough time to do it as he's is very busy in jailbreaking iOS devices. Check out the full conversation below :

In another Tweet, Pod2G confirming to the popular iPhone developer, chronic, that he's working on some exploit without referring the kind of those exploits.
We have to wait and see, but you have to know that you can unlock your iPhone 4 on 4.10.01 / 3.101.01 / 2.10.04 on any iOS version with Gevey SIM which is a perfect solution to unlock your iPhone 4. But I hope to see new version of Ultrasn0w from Pod2g to unlock iPhone 4 for free.

iOS 5 Release Date

iOS 5 release date ? This is the most common question across the web. Rumors and reports that came from non-official giant Apple news blogs are claiming two dates. Some sources expected that iOS 5 release date will be at the end of September while there's strong indicator that iOS 5 release date will be on October 10.

What Blogs excepting about iOS 5 Release date :

The guys over BGR was able to get some important news regarding iOS 5 GM from reliable sources which are pointing that Apple going to released iOS 5 GM by September 23 and then wait for acceptance from carrier partners by October 5th, which means that iOS 5 release date will be on October 10th.

Apple typically rolls out major iOS release ahead of new iPhone launches. Apple Stores only begin their training of new iOS version or it's related software in the couple of weeks leading up to a respective product launch. 9to5macblog reported that Apple beginning their iOS 5 training within last week could mean that iOS 5 release date will be sooner than the recently rumored dates of mid-to-late October.

According to AppleInsider sources that iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5G went into mass production in late August. Moreover, Apple will send iOS 5 GM (Golden Master) to its overseas assemblers at some point between September 23 and September 30. Upon receiving the software, Apple's overseas assemblers will be able to install and test iOS 5 GM on the finalized hardware and prepare it for shipping. In light of this AppleInsider are excepting that iOS 5 release date will be on the mid-October.

iOS 5 release date (Official Date):

So far there's no official word came from apple regarding iOS 5 release date as it's very confidential information. I think it makes sense that Apple makes such information to be confidential as they may experience last-minute bugs which kill Apple's credibility. So don't trust anyone claims that he have certain iOS 5 release date.

Conclusion : iOS 5 Release date :

So far Apple has released 7 beta versions of iOS 5 firmware for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G, iPad 2, 1 and Apple TV 2G. Here's the dates of the released and expected versions of iOS S 5:
Any way we will let you know any updates just they come.

WARNING: Redsn0w 2.8b9 Is Fake, Stay Away!

We’ve to say that again and again. Although we have informed you already on our Facebook fan page, but people still download and try this fake version of Redsn0w spreading on the web which claimed to be iOS 4.3.5 untethered jailbreak. We had to do this post because people, and even blogs, are sharing this fake video and fake downloads of Redsn0w 2.8b9. Again, the iPhone Dev Team didn’t, and will not, release untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.5

The video embedded above showing a totally fake untethered jailbreak. It’s HOAX!

iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak Status

One of the hottest pieces of news came yesterday from pod2g, remember him ? Well, pod2g is the guy and hacker behind greenpois0n jailbreak's exploit that released by the end of last year to jailbreak 4.1 / 4.2.1. Pod2g has announced that Chronic Dev-team is working actively on iOS 5 untethered jailbreak.
yeah, the whole chronic-Dev team is still alive and actively working on iOS 5 !

iOS 5 untethered jailbreak status :

So far Dev-team succeeded perfectly to jailbreak iOS 5 on all its 7 beta versions. Precisely, Redsn0w is able to jailbreak from iOS 5 beta 1 to beta 7 but unfortunately it's tethered so far. Now we have two teams are working on iOS 5 untethered jailbreak the first one is iPhone Dev-team and the second one is chronic Dev-team.

iOS 5 untethered jailbreak Release date :

iOS 5 untethered jailbreak release date not confirmed officially from anyone of hacker teams' members. Likely iOS 5 untethered jailbreak won't be released before iPhone 5 release to keep their exploits away from Apple hands.

Do you think that we will get new version of Greenpois0n to jailbreak iOS 5 untethered ? For me I think they will release new tool. What do you think ?

Anyway, we will let you once we get more updates, stay tuned.

iPad 2 Jailbreak
Since 4.3.1 is already exploited by the legendary @i0n1c, we’re working on finishing iPad2 jailbreak now.
It is important to note here that Apple has already patched iPad 2 jailbreak exploit in iOS 4.3.1 which was found by Comex on iOS 4.3. Since Chronic Dev Team hasn’t announced on whether their new jailbreak will work on iOS 4.3.1 (or the upcoming iOS 4.3.2) or not, therefore to be on the safe side, it will be better to stay on iOS 4.3.
We will keep you updated as always. Stay tuned!
